Linda Benjamin, LMT
Lead Massage Therapist,
pronouns: she/her
With the intention to move towards balance, when you receive massage from Linda (Benjamin) you can expect an integrative approach between her clinical foundation (with the Soma Institute in Chicago, 2008) and Eastern modalities obtained mid career (with Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, 2018).
Each session is unique to the person and day of treatment, but one can expect attention to fascia, the connective lines that move through and compartmentalize the body to be central to your treatment plan. Hands on, pressure is applied slow but firm, up to the bodies edge of resistance and with minimal product. Linda aims to facilitate a space where the bodies natural ability to heal moves towards equilibrium.
Yvonne Kawamura, LMT
Founder of Deep River Healing Arts
Pronouns: she/her
Upon graduating Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College and the Swedish Institute, Yvonne received her massage license and embarked on her career. After 8 years in the profession, she found herself increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of care offered by Western and Alternative medicine alike, and decided to open her own practice in 2017. Clients consistently expressed surprise and gratitude at Yvonne’s commitment to addressing their complaints, often being the first to attend to persistent pain that no other health professional could remedy. Through active listening, skillful problem-solving, and expert touch, Yvonne and her team work with clients in a dynamic process to identify the root of pain rather than the symptoms. While each session is focused on immediate results, she often includes anatomical education and homework to support the client outside the studio.
Mae's (She/Her, They/Them) healing and body work is interdisciplinary, holistic and client-centered. Her specialties include relaxation massage, acupressure, myofascial release techniques and energetic work. She strives to provide a safe space for all to feel seen, heard and cared for.
